Erin the Barn Owl
4th, 5th and 6th Class had the pleasure of meeting Erin the Barn Owl this week! As part of ongoing conservation efforts, the classes learned all about the Owls that are native to Ireland and how unfortunately, the number of Barn Owls remaining on our island is in decline. Barn Owls are currently on the red list!
We learned all about the conservation efforts of the community within Multyfarnham particularly the Men's Shed who are building houses for Owls to nest safely in our area.
Children were reminded to stay away from any Owl houses that they come across in order not to scare away any potential Owl visitors to our area.
It was a real 'hoot' to have the beautiful Erin visit our classroom! 🦉
